EDITORIAL: Kenya | AIDS Orphans
Kenya is a rarity in Africa where experts say the AIDS epidemic shows signs of easing. Yet that has not helped the roughly 1.1 million children that have been left orphaned by the deadly disease. Many live on the streets or turn to prostitution in order to survive. A few lucky ones are admitted to NGO or church-funded orphanages that care for them. Some of these children have not been told of their HIV status.
